01

Shared diary and bookings

Use the shared diary and bookings to plan dates, maintain your repertoire, and prepare a setlist for each show.

02

Prepare and reuse your show setup

Arrange your setlist and add interaction templates from the library. Save a whole show as a template to reuse its setup for another gig.

03

Run what you prepared

Use the show runtime controls to manage the running order and interactions. Share a join link when you want audience participation.

Interface screenshots are focused component captures using demonstration data. They are examples of the current UI, not customer account data or full-page workspace views.

Repertoire library

Keep the song catalogue in one place

The Songs management view is where a band maintains its repertoire. Add and organise songs in the library, then use them when preparing show setlists.

Setlist on a phone

A compact setlist view

This focused mobile capture shows the setlist panel at a narrow phone size. It demonstrates the song-order controls, not a complete audience-facing app.

Frequently asked questions

A practical guide to getting connected, keeping the show in your hands and understanding how live credits work.

01

Connection & setup

A little planning helps the tech stay out of the way of the music.

What if the venue has poor mobile signal or no Wi-Fi?
Hosted live audience interaction needs an internet connection on the show-control device and on every participating device. Audience members can use mobile data or internet-connected Wi-Fi; a hotspot used by the band does not automatically connect audience phones.

For a venue with weak reception, a 4G or 5G hotspot or cellular router placed where it gets the best signal may help. Starlink is another option for rural venues, with the venue’s permission and a safe installation. Whichever connection you use, test it at the venue before the show.

As a comfortable planning target, consider around 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. That is not an enforced minimum or a performance guarantee: shared audience Wi-Fi, uploads, video and network congestion all affect the bandwidth available.

Does Mobrool work fully offline if the connection drops?
Hosted live audience interaction needs internet and does not continue fully offline. If the connection drops, live syncing of audience votes and messages may be interrupted.

Keep a fallback setlist ready so you can carry on with the music if the connection fails. Specialist local show-control options are not a substitute for the internet connection needed by the hosted audience features.

Do audience members need an app or an account?
No app or audience login is needed. People can scan the event presentation’s QR code or follow its link, then join in their phone’s browser. Custom banners can be useful, but they are optional—not a requirement.
02

Crowd & content control

Set the boundaries, then choose what belongs in the moment.

How can we manage inappropriate or rowdy audience messages?
Profanity masking can help catch some language, and you choose how messages are handled:
  • Manual: Messages stay pending for a band member to review and approve or reject.
  • Auto Approve: Automatic AI screening is used to decide whether a message can be approved. AI can misread context, local slang or dialect, so it is not a flawless safety filter.
  • Auto Display: Uses the automatic screening flow and sends approved messages to a small list in the display sidebar. A message only appears as a central highlight when a band member explicitly clicks it.

If AI screening is unavailable, messages default to pending for manual review. A band can explicitly enable a local-only, unscreened fallback; that is a conscious choice to accept the risk, and those messages have not been AI-checked. Yellow and red cards warn or block a sender for the current show.

What if the crowd votes for a song we are not ready to play?
Song-choice polls use the options you have prepared, and the band controls which poll is active and when it runs. The result can inform the moment, but it does not dictate your set: you decide what to play and keep the show moving in the way that suits your band.
Can one person vote repeatedly or rig a poll?
Normal browser voting restricts repeat votes for the current choice, but it is not a foolproof way to identify one human per vote. A kiosk is shared, so direct kiosk voting needs band oversight. Kiosks can instead invite people to submit their choice on their own phone. In our experience with Bootlegger’s Turn, that extra step can confuse people, so we tend to use direct voting and keep an eye on the kiosks.
03

Accounts, credits & testing

Know what an activation covers before show day.

What does one live-show credit cover?
One activation covers one event for up to 12 hours from the first time it goes live, with up to 250 simultaneous audience connections. That is a concurrent connection limit, not 250 total admissions. Polls, messages and other interactions within that event do not use separate credits. Ending the event closes that activation immediately.
Do purchased credits expire, and what happens to Premium credits?
Purchased credits never expire and remain on your account if you cancel. They are plan-agnostic, but an active paid subscription is still needed to start a live event.

Premium’s included monthly credits renew with the billing cycle and reset if unused; they do not roll over. Included credits are used before purchased credits. For current prices and full plan entitlements, see Mobrool pricing.

Can we try our setup at home before a gig?
Yes—we recommend it. Subscribed bands can use Test Mode to rehearse and prepare without spending a live credit. Build your show, try the audience view on your phone and check your screen and hardware before taking it to a gig. Available features depend on your subscription; see current plan details.
